Let's find out what you need to know about engineered hardwood

Some people think that since this floor covering is “engineered” hardwood, that it’s somehow not real hardwood flooring. This couldn't be further from the truth, and of course, we'll tell you why. But first, we want you to know that this floor covering is a great choice for your home.

In many areas, it fits into both your décor and your flooring needs as if it was made for the location. With excellent durability as well, you just can’t pass up the opportunity to get to know these floors a little better.

Engineered hardwood flooring is a great choice. Here’s why

When you visit our engineered hardwood flooring retailer, you’ll quickly see that engineered hardwood is, indeed, real wood flooring. This material features a real wood veneer layer, available in your choice of thicknesses, sandwiched between plies of other wood products and a protective wear layer on top.

In that real wood veneer, you can choose our favorite wood species, but you must remember to match the hardness level with your own flooring needs. That means, if you have a high-traffic space that needs flooring, don't choose a species that's rated for low traffic. If you have any questions, give us a call!

You can also choose from a variety of stain colors, which are of course, not as extensive as the options available to you in unfinished solid wood, but there are plenty of options. Finally, finish your floors with a great finish type that can even work to hide signs of wear. With proper care and maintenance, you’ll find these floors can last decades.

You can even refinish these floors, just as you can refinish solid floor. However, the number of times this can be done is solely dependent upon the thickness of the actual wood veneer.
